CURRENT GRANT: LIVE FOR TODAY
Live For Today is a once a year grant of $25,000 to an individual or small organization to assist the Native/Indigenous individual/community in their pursuits in the creative fields of (Painting, Media Production, Graphic Design, Fashion, Acting, and so on). The applicant is not required to create towards the Native/Indigenous community but IS required to be affiliated in their tribe/nation in some form, or fashion.
The Live For Today Grant is closed for 2025 — application submissions will reopen in 2026.
PURPOSE & INTENT
Live For Today is a once a year grant of $25,000 to an individual or small organization to assist the Native/Indigenous individual/community in their pursuits in the creative fields of (Painting, Media Production, Graphic Design, Fashion, Acting, and so on). The applicant is not required to create towards the Native/Indigenous community but IS required to be affiliated in their tribe/nation in some form, or fashion.
Requirements
- Must be affiliated with a Tribe or Nation
- Must have a proposal ready to layout what their trying to accomplish in the creative space
- Must have an intended ROI for themselves
- Visual representation of products or designs
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to Indigenous people 18 years and over who are living across the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, Islands of Hawaii, Borikén/Puerto Rico, and the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This grant is open to Artists, Creatives, Culture-bearers, Storytellers who:
- Are at any stage of their work life, but must have momentum, be visionary, and be on a journey within a movement for collective liberation.
- Have demonstrated experience in producing or co-designing community art projects.
- Have experience in managing funds, including any tax obligations.
- Have a willingness to participate in broader community dialogue or participatory research.
HOW TO APPLY

- Please be sure to register well in advance of the grant due date to ensure timely submission.
- Any attempts to register later than 5 p.m. CST / 4 P.M. CDMX on DATE does not guarantee submission by 5 p.m. CST / 4 p.m. CDMX due date on DATE.
- Please ensure that your organizational information is correct, i.e.; contact information, email address; telephone number etc. Once it is submitted you cannot edit your profile information.
- Once you’ve registered or logged in, you will receive information via email on how to access your portal and complete the application forms.
- It is best to start working on your application well in advance of the deadline to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances and to allow yourself enough time to complete all required sections and upload supporting documents.
- Hoka Hey Nation cannot make any exceptions to the initial application/grant application due date. This includes incomplete applications, application mistakes due to user error, or faxed/emailed or mailed applications unless there has been prior approval by Hoka Hey Nation Foundation staff.
